First Day of collage?

I'll give you a little context for this story. After the 12th grade, I took many entrance exams, but my rank wasn't good, and I also faced some financial issues. Because of this, I took admission to a Tier 69 college. I had to go there urgently for some reason, but I hadn't booked a train ticket. So, I ended up traveling in a general class compartment.
Whenever I travel in general class, I realize just how important it is to have a good education and a high-paying job. After a lot of difficulty and changing trains two or three times, my journey of 30 hours finally ended, and I reached my destination. I was starving. As soon as I got off the train, I wanted to eat something non-vegetarian, but all I could see were vegetarian options. I even felt a bit worried for the people who were drinking alcohol there—how could they do it without any non-veg food?
Still hungry, I booked a Rapido. It was a good thing that I had changed my T-shirt on the way, because when I finally reached the college, all the students were wearing new clothes and seemed well-mannered. Meanwhile, I was carrying a grocery bag.
Then I went to the admission counseling office and got admitted. A lady there asked me where I was from. I told her I was from Bihar, and she said, "You don't look Bihari." I couldn't tell if it was a compliment or an insult.
